Joe Weinstock was previously the Senior Director of Development for Discovery Channel. In this role, he was responsible for bringing new series and specials to Discovery while supervising the development and production of concepts to green light. Additionally, Weinstock identified producers and talent necessary to develop compelling new characters and programming and helped set development strategy for the network while overseeing select productions.

During his time with the network, he managed the development of such programs as BLUE GRASS BOYS, PORTER RIDGE, HIGHWAY TO SELL and GAME OF STONES for which he also held Executive Producer credits.

Before joining Discovery, Weinstock was Vice President of Production for Gurney Productions and earned Co-Executive Producer credit for AUCTION HUNTERS, AMERICAN DIGGER, MONSTER MAN, HAUNTED COLLECTOR, HOLLYWOOD TREASURE, DUCK DYNASTY, AMERICAN GUNS and many others.

Prior to Gurney Productions, Weinstock was Senior Director, Original Series for Spike TV. He was a part of the Spike development team for five years and worked on high-profile projects such as AUCTION HUNTERS, JESSE JAMES IS A DEAD MAN, DEADLIEST WARRIOR, MANSWERS, PROS VS. JOES, DEA and 1000 WAYS TO DIE.

Weinstock started his entertainment career in 2005 in Los Angeles at MTV Networks in the business and legal affairs department at Comedy Central. He brought with him an extensive legal background from his home state of Oklahoma.

Weinstock earned his juris doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Norman, Oklahoma and worked as a trial attorney in Tulsa, in addition to teaching Speech Communication at Oklahoma State University.
