Shawn Witt is Co-President of Leftfield Pictures

He launched and currently oversees Alone, the longest survival experiment ever captured for television and History’s #1 series premiere of 2015, airing in more than 200 territories worldwide; and most recently executive produced National Geographic Channel’s Brain Surgery Live with Mental Floss, the first ever live televised brain surgery, hosted by Bryant Gumbel and broadcast live to 171 countries in 45 languages worldwide.

Additional projects from 2015 include Billy the Kid: New Evidence for National Geographic Channel; Football Town: Barrow, Alaska for NFL Network; plus Lost and Found with Mike & Jesse for Discovery Family.

Shawn launched and oversaw multiple seasons of the hit series Tiny House Nation and Tiny House Hunting for FYI; and continues to oversee Forged in Fire, American Restoration and Counting Cars for History. Under his watch, Counting Cars became the #1 rated series premiere of all time for History, and the #1 non-fiction series premiere on cable in 2012.

Additional credits include Oddities: San Francisco and Odd Folks Home for the Science Channel; Engineering Disasters, Pawnogprahy and Rivermen for History; Brainstormers for The Weather Channel; America’s Most Badass for AHC; Arctic Rescue for Discovery; Guntucky and Hillbillies for Hire on CMT; Great American Food Finds for Food Network and ABC’s Ball Boys.

He’s currently exec producing eight soon-to-be announced projects for Red Bull, Netflix, National Geographic, Food Network, Discovery, History and Fox.

Prior to joining Leftfield, Shawn was an Executive Producer at MTV, specializing in the development and supervision of reality series, clip shows, daily live studio productions, plus live specials & event coverage. He brings extensive experience managing multiple, large production teams in addition to being a hands-on show runner overseeing all aspects of production from concept through completion.

His diverse executive credits include Total Request Live, Pranked, Parental Control, MTV’s New Year’s Bash, Jersey Shore: Spoof’d, Hollywood Hookups, and It’s On w/ Alexa Chung.

Shawn has a background as a Camera Operator, Writer and Avid Editor, and has produced for numerous series, specials and corporations including MTV’s Making the Band 4, Jackass 24, the VMAs, and Celebrity Deathmatch; Nickelodeon’s W.A.C.K. (the Mascot Wrestling Spectacular), ME:TV, and Slime Ball; plus Nike, EA Sports, EA Games, MTV Games, the NBA, the NFL, and numerous multi-million dollar on-air brand and product integrations.

Shawn began his career as a Page for the Late Show with David Letterman after graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Ursinus College with a degree in Communications, Music and Music History. He currently moonlights as a drummer and photographer while trying desperately to break 85 in golf.
